Our amazing grade 2's have been working hard for over a month to collect enough points to get cupcakes. So this Friday I made cupcakes and they got to decorate and eat them! Here are a few pictures of all the fun they had.

Hello Families,
Every student should have come home with a sign up sheet for interviews. These are by parent request. If you did not receive one and would like to meet with us please send me and email. Interviews are Thursday from 1:30-4:00. This means that Thursday is a half day (8:30-12:30). In April we got to go to Big Little Science center. Mrs Hammond taught us all about light and how rainbows are made.
Sorry about the delay! I completely forgot to post our Valentine's video. It was a great fun filled day! Thank you for all of the valentines and treats that were brought in. The students had a blast!
On Friday the students experimented with snow. Each group got a snowball and a household item to help them insulate their snowball. The groups hypothesized and tested out their item. Out of the 5 items they picked (tinfoil, sugar, salt, vinegar, and cotton balls), it was concluded that cotton balls work the best!
Hi famillies,
Everyone should have received a handout about literacy week. There are activities planned all week. Three important ones are: 1. Curl up and read - come read with your child from 8:30-9:00 2. The book swap on Thursday -bring in your your gently used books for the book swap 3. Dress up as your favourite book character on Friday Last week we sent home a notice about the PAC gift basket. Each classroom is making a gift basket that will be raffled off at the Christmas Concert on Dec. 16th. Our theme is Literacy! The items donated can be new or gently used. We are looking for items such as:
Books, bookmarks, pens or pencils, notebooks, paper, highlighters, erasers, post-it notes, chapters gift card, markers, etc. Basically, we would like anything that can be used for reading or writing. Thank you for your support! P.S. Items are being collected from the classroom on Dec. 11th The Christmas Concert will be on December 16th @ 1pm and 6pm. If you have any questions about what your child will be doing, or what they need to wear please go to Mrs Phillip's blog page. She said that most questions can be answer by visiting the blog, if not you can contact her. This can be found on the BEST web page. Lastly, if there are any parent volunteers that would like to help out with costumes or decorations please contact Mrs Phillips
Today we had a great presentation by Mandy Ross from Wildsafe BC. With her, she brought a wealth of information and artifacts such as skulls, pictures, and paw imprints. She shared a variety of facts, how to keep bears and humans safe, and to protect ourselves if we are ever encounter a bear in the wild. It was a very engaging and fun presentation. Thanks again to Wildsafe BC!
We finally have a permanent teacher filling in for Ms Vannan! I would like to introduce my new teaching partner Ms Campbell. She will be taking over the same teaching schedule that Ms Vannan had which is from 8:30-11:05. I am very excited and grateful that she has decided to become part of our classroom. I hope that over the next few weeks all of you will get a chance to meet her!
Thank you to everyone who came out and helped us during skating. The students had a blast! Here is is quick video of the Grade 2's and 6's skating up a storm.

Mrs Wishnowski Today we had our second School Spirit Assembly. Today the assembly focused on safety in and around the school, and how to be safe on Halloween night.
On Tuesday we carved pumpkins! All of our pumpkins will be displayed at the Pumpkin of Lights Festival on Thursday October 29th. They will be returned to the school on Friday and each student will get to bring their pumpkin home.
Hi Families!
Halloween is just around the corner! On Friday students will be able to dress up for the day, however remember that students cannot wear masks, have weapons, or wear costumes that are overly gory. I am very excited to see what everyone shows up in! Throughout the day we will be doing a variety of Halloween themed activities and will end the day with a small primary dance. Also I will be bringing in a few snacks for the students. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Thanks, Mrs W Here is an updated schedule of the interviews:
